Description

In a medium saucepan, heat and stir 2 1/4 cups water and the sugar over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Remove from the heat and cool for 20 minutes.

Add the lemon zest and lemon juice to the sugar syrup. Pour into a covered jar and refrigerate.

For each serving, pour 1/2 cup lemonade base into a glass. Stir in 1/2 cup cold water. Fill the glass with ice and garnish with a lemon slice.
